Salford-based band, The Lanks, are preparing to release their debut original single, Bigger Man.

The foursome, which consists of lead singer, Liam Scholes, and guitarists, Josh Lloyd, Sam McKnight and Stuart Pickett, will be releasing the track on Sunday 16 April.

The group originally began with Liam, from Salford, and Josh, from Liverpool. Their name ‘The Lanks’ came about as they had to drive over Lancastrian Way to meet up.

They gained their two other guitarists through mutual friends and practise in studios around Salford.

Handmade clothing company, BEPO, which advocates for mental health, began sponsoring the band after Liam and Josh, met the founder on a trip to Wales.

The band specialise in Manchester’s typical indie/rock music scene and have been playing at venues such as Bask in Stockport, where they were joined by Courteeners singer, Liam Fray, and Canvas in Manchester.

They are playing their first non-local gig on April 24, in Liverpool where they will be performing their new song.

Tickets can be found here and information about streaming their new song will be released on social media.
