Scientists from NASA are set to deliver a series of lectures and workshops to celebrate Pendleton Sixth Form College’s 50th anniversary.
A team from the space agency’s Goddard Space Flight Centre will be delivering the lessons to Sixth Form students next week.
The NASA team are set to bring a ‘mobile space lab’, a creative space with an emphasis on space science, that brings together a range of STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) disciplines.
Heading the lectures will be planetary scientist, Professor Lou Mayo; executive producer and co-host for the NASA EDGE video podcast, Blair Allen; and former director of NASA’s STEM Innovation Lab and founder of the mobile lab, Troy Cline.
Lindsey Abbott, the Head of the Centre of Excellence for STEM at Pendleton Sixth Form College, said: “We are incredibly excited and proud to be in partnership with NASA, and the visit will provide our students with an incredible learning opportunity.”
