Ammies boss Neil Wood, reacted to the Salford City defeat and will be looking for a response from his side after a late defeat to Crewe last Friday.
The 4-3 defeat was bitterly disappointing for the team with more points dropped. After leading 3-2 with five minutes remaining it will be the manner of the Salford City defeat and conceding two late goals to a side they beat comfortably earlier in the season that will concern Salford City supporters as the race for promotion gets tighter.
Now only one point separates Salford from Mansfield in the chasing pack, but The Ammies have played one more game, so three points at mid-table Doncaster Rovers this weekend are vital in keeping the chase for League 1 alive.
Doncaster come into the game at Moor Lane in 13th place, seven points behind Salford and with just one win in the last five games, so Neil Wood will be expecting a response from his side.
There were some positives to take from Friday’s defeat however, with January signing Louie Barry registering his first goal for Salford. Tapping in after great work from Luke Bolton who, on a personal level had a great game laying on two goals for teammates despite the result.
Callum Hendry’s stunning acrobatic volley in the first half was another highlight but ultimately defensive lapses in concentration cost Salford the game. Boss, Neil Wood stressed the importance of his side showing its ‘bounce back ability’.
He said: “We’ve got to get over it quickly, we’ve got to produce performances, we’ve got to produce results.”

Top scorer Conor McAleny is a doubt after not being in the squad for last Friday’s game, McAleny remains the top marksman with 9 goals in the League, which compared to other teams in the playoff question is low.
Even Doncaster’s top scorer George Miller has 10, he will be the main man Neil Wood and his defence will be trying to keep quiet on Saturday.
With a tough run coming up, with away fixtures against high flying Stevenage, promotion and local rivals Stockport County and front runner Leyton Orient.
In the next few weeks, it is vital that Salford start with a win and look to go on a run and cement a playoff position come May.
