The Salford based Babyballet franchise is thanking the community for their support and donations towards their ongoing fundraising for the child loss charity, Tommy’s.
The Tommy’s Danceathon is a national event and the Babyballet company has managed to raise over £1,000,000 since the partnership began.
In 2016, the pregnancy charity, Tommy’s, reached out to babyballet. They saw a huge opportunity for customers, friends and families at Babyballet to help save babies lives.
Miss Suzy, leader of babyballet Walkden, Worsley and Tyldesely said:
Miss Suzy said: “It feels incredible to raise so much money. Our little stars did such fantastic dancing and we can’t thank their grown ups enough for their support to raise this phenomenal amount of money.
“We held a Danceathon. Our little stars took part in a sponsored challenge to find all the colours of the Babyballet rainbow in their classes, and they were invited to wear their brightest colours whilst doing so.”
Since 2016, Babyballet have ran their ‘danceathons’ every other year to raise money for Tommy’s charity.
The Tommy’s charity carries out vital research into miscarriage and stillbirth, and offers support to families who experience baby loss.
Miss Suzy continued: “With so many people affected by the devastation of miscarriage and stillbirth and with us being lucky enough to dance with our wonderful little stars day in day out.
“We knew that Tommy’s was a fantastic charity to partner with and help in any way we could.
“As well as raising awareness for a cause close to our hearts, some of our parents took the time to reach out to us and share their personal experiences and explain why it’s so important for them to take part in the campaign.
“It has been very moving, and we thank each and every single person for their bravery in sharing their stories with us.”
Kath Abrams, Tommy’s Chief Executive said: “Thank you Babyballet.
“The generosity and support of each and everyone of you over the years has been truly overwhelming.
“We’re so grateful for the vital funds raised for Tommy’s over the years during these very special events.”
The babyballet franchise was founded by Claire O’Connor and Barbara Peters in 1999. They wanted to create a place where babies, toddlers, and pre-schoolers could experience the magic of ballet and dance in a fun and inclusive environment.
Babyballet now has over 100 franchised and licensed schools teaching over twenty-five thousand children every week in the UK, New Zealand, Australia and Singapore.
Miss Suzy continued: “Their family and friends were invited to sponsor them for their wonderful dancing and hard work to find all of the colours.
“I have a fantastic team of teachers and brilliant admin manager who help deliver the best classes for children aged six months to five years of age.
