The University College of Sports Business (UCFB) will be moving into Salford Quays from September 2023.
Approval of change of use plans at MediaCityUK will allow the global sports school to set up shop in the Quay Plaza building.

“The BBC, ITV and dock10 are right on its doorstep as well as other educational establishments at MediaCity such as The University of Salford and University Technical College and will help secure the next generation of talent here at MediaCity.”
The change of use across four floors, spanning almost 11,000 square foot, will specialise in the teaching of sports media, communications, and broadcasting degrees.
Adjacent to the Millennium Bridge and overlooking Old Trafford Football Stadium the new outpost will come with an array of rooms and facilties.
These include several lecture and seminar rooms, a study lounge, space for up to 410 staff and students at any one time, with up to a further 1,000 students able to use the building for timetabled classes.
The institution started at Burnley’s Turf Moor in 2011, and relocating to Manchester in 2016.
Since, UCFB and GIS have spread their sports education programme across the planet, with centres in London, Manchester, Miami, Melbourne and now MediaCity in Salford.
