The Ammies are looking to build on their demolition of Mansfield at the weekend as they travel to Cumbria to face mid-table Barrow.
After seeing off playoff rivals Mansfield by five goals to two on Saturday Salford City travel up north next in hope to build a run of form heading towards the business end of the season.
Bradford and Mansfield have games in hand as part of the chasing pack behind, so it’s paramount that Salford pick up three points to solidify their playoff ambitions.
With key player, Elliot Watt hitting top form at such a key time in the season, registering three assists against Mansfield taking him top of the charts with 13 for the season. Unsurprisingly Matty Lund bagged his customary goal against Mansfield and then added a second for good measure. With the other goals coming from Callum Hendry and two unusual sources, defenders Theo Vassell and Luke Bolton.

Both Barrow and Salford have taken seven points from the last 15 available, the two sides come into the game at Holker Street on inconsistent runs of form.
Barrow could move as high as 9th while Salford could climb as high as 4th if results go their way. Barrow’s top scorer Josh Gordon has 11 this season, three more than The Ammies top marksman Connor McAleny who sits on eight, but Gordon has failed to score in his last three. The two sides have faced each other five times in the EFL, with Salford taking 3 wins and a late equaliser saving Barrow a point in the reverse fixture on boxing day at Moor Lane.
Ammies boss Neil Wood believes his side are still on the right track. He said: “We still believe in what we’re doing and I think that showed on Saturday. We have to take that forward, we have to take that confidence and that performance into Tuesday.”
Salford supporters face the 96 mile trip up north in the hope that their dreams of a longer trip to Wembley at the end of the season can be kept alive.
