A Salford theatre company is hosting its first ever fundraiser showcase to boost the accessibility of performing arts within the city.
The event A Night in the Spotlight will take place on February 23 at The King’s Arms in Salford.
Take-A-Bow said: “The audience can expect a night of fun and exhilarating performances by actors from Salford.”
The night is hosted by Salford alumni and award-winning comedian Ben Hodge and will showcase the talent on offer with acting and musical performances.
The group is fundraising in order to boost its profits, and make the arts more accessible across the city.
Take-a-bow was formed during the Covid-19 lockdown by Ewan Sowerby, who is the current chairman.
It was originally seen as a project so it could be up and running once the restrictions had lifted.
The group began in person in last September.
Ewan Jon, a member of the group, said: “Our main aim is to provide our members with the opportunity to get involved with the arts with a cheap and affordable subscription.
“We want to be more accessible for low-income households.”
Salford Unemployed and Community Resource Centre (SUCRC) is well aware of the deprivation faced by many in the area, saying: “Salford is an area of acute economic deprivation, it has 47 super output areas in the 10% most deprived in the country.”

Jon said: “There are a plethora of different themes within this show. It makes it all the more compelling for audiences to join us for this fun filled night!”
