A man has been jailed after a revolver was found in the extractor fan of a house on Langworthy Road.
Twenty-six-year-old Marco McKenzie was arrested in April 2022 after police found a loaded 32. calibre revolver within the kitchen of the property.
McKenzie, from South Manchester, was jailed for five years after being charged with possession of a firearm.
He pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing and was sentenced at Manchester Crown Court yesterday (13 February).
Detective Inspector Lee Newburn said: “Diligent enquiries led to locating McKenzie at the property in Salford.
“A thorough and full search of the kitchen resulted in a viable and dangerous firearm being located with the bullets placed inside. The weapon has now been taken out of circulation.
“We will remain relentless in our pursuit of criminals involved in organised crime and encourage members of the public to report their concerns to the police or anonymously via Crimestoppers, so we can remove firearms from our community and put criminals like McKenzie behind bars.”
