With February half-term coming up, here’s a round-up of some of the activities planned throughout Salford to keep children entertained.
Intensive Swimming Lessons
Leisure centres throughout Salford are offering a course of ‘intensive swimming’ lessons, to build children’s confidence in the water, or boost techniques for those with basic training.
Broughton, Clarendon, Eccles, Irlam and Cadishead, Swinton and Pendlebury, and Worsley Leisure Centres are each running a series of classes including fly, breaststroke, backstroke and front crawl.
Times and prices range based on ability, details of which can be found on the Intensive Swimming Lessons’ site.
Sayo/ Sparky groups
Oasis Academy and Clarendon Leisure Centre will be running a series of ‘Sayo/Sparky’ events. Activities at the events range from multi-sports, dance, arts and crafts and swimming.
The activities are suitable for children aged 8-16, with Clarendon sessions running for free, and Oasis sessions priced at £3 per day.
Ordsall Hall
Ordsall Hall is set to run a range of activities for children, centred around creative and historical education.
Activities include: Exploring what Tudor children played with in ‘Tudor Playtime’; making soap in ‘Meet the Maid’; making sleep bags of herbs; flower pot decorating and seed planting; and a Fruit Tree Grafting workshop.
Activities range from free, to £25 for the Fruit Tree Grafting workshop.
Salford Museum and Art Gallery
Salford Museum and Art Gallery has also planned a series of creative and educational workshops.
Decorate your own craft house to take home, play with clay in the Pilkington exhibition, read an array of books, or take part in a Lucky Dip throughout the holidays with a free museum entry ticket.
Activities range from free to £2 per child.
