Twenty-three people have been arrested today across Irlam and neighbouring areas as part of an ongoing police initiative.
The arrests were part of a series of staged raids across Irlam and Partington as part of the ongoing initiative, Operation AVRO.
The searches began at midday today (Tuesday 24 January) and are planned to continue for the rest of the day, according to Urmston Police.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said: “Our message to you if you are a criminal operating across the City of Manchester, is that if we don’t get you today, we will be back.”

GMP have carried out high-visibility patrols and have engaged with the community as part of the operation. Search and arrests have been carried out, which have also resulted in the seizure of cash, drugs, stolen property and exotic birds.
