Detectives are appealing to the public for information after a 62-year-old man was left with ‘serious injuries’ after being stabbed in a Salford car park.

At around 16:25 yesterday afternoon (Tuesday 10 January), Greater Manchester Police (GMP) officers were called to reports of a stabbing in a car park on Heywood way in Salford.

A 62-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

After initial enquiries, officers believe the situation is an isolated incident.

GMP are appealing to the public for further information regarding this incident to help locate the suspect.

Detective Sergeant Gareth Bannister of GMP’s Salford District said: “I would like to reassure the public first and foremost that this is an isolated incident, and our officers are leaving no stone unturned to locate the suspect in question.

“If you were at Salford Precinct [yesterday afternoon], and saw anything suspicious, saw the suspect in question or have any information no matter how small it may be, this could be a huge help in locating the suspect and achieving justice for the victim.”
