An online retailer has donated a brand-new hob and chest freezer to Church in Pendlebury to support people during the winter months.
Online retailer, AO, donated the products to Kings Church Salford, Pendlebury, allowing volunteers of the church to provide free, hot nutritional meals to the local community throughout winter.
The donation comes a week after the retailer provided Broughton House Care Village with gifts and Christmas cheer as part of a new community initiative.
Chris Case, Pastor at Kings Church Salford, said: “We are so grateful to AO for their kind donation to Kings Church as this has enabled our team to cook the meals we are offering to our community and help with freezing any leftovers so there is no food waste.
“Over the last couple of weeks, we have had members of the community come to the church who have said they have gone home and slept properly for the first time in weeks because they have had a hot meal and someone to talk to. So, this donation has been a huge blessing to both the church and the community.”
AO’s Brand and Marketing Director, Vicky Monk, said: “When we heard about the incredible work that the Kings Church Salford were doing over these colder months, we knew as a locally based business that we had to get involved.
“We’re all about making decisions that would make our mums proud and this is certainly one of them – a big thank you to everyone who helped make this donation happen.”
