A Salford-based teenage band are set to release their original debut single this December.
The band features a trio of musicians; John (12) the lead vocalist, Brandon (13) the bassist and Ted (16) the band’s drummer.
12 year-old vocalist, John said: “We’re really excited, the song is one of our favourites that we’ve got so we’re really excited for it to be out there.”
The youngsters formed their aspiring band in January through a shared love and passion for indie music and have been practicing after school ever since. According to John, the band “tend to see each other quite a lot” and are a pretty tight-knit group.
John also feels the reaction social media from Salford so far has been ‘brilliant’.
John detailed: “It’s been great really, we’ve had a lot of likes and shares you know loads of people have given us gigs since they know we’ve got a single out.
“It sounds brilliant on the record, so, excited to get it out there.”
By taking inspiration from legendary bands like Oasis and The Smiths, The Height have big dreams of taking the indie music industry by storm.
John said: “In general I’d say our aim as a band it to be a massive arena band, -we might end up somewhere completely different and be happy with that, but at the minute that’s where we’d like to be.”
“You never know where it might go.”
The Height are trying to make their mark on the Salford community by building up their social media presence on Twitter and Instagram. Tune in to The Height’s catchy tracks on their Instagram and Twitter page.
