A dementia support centre in Salford is hosting a memorial service featuring a ‘Tree of Remembrance’ and personalised baubles.
Aspire’s dementia support centre, Humphrey Booth, is hosting the service on Monday 12 December from 5pm.
The memorial service will include musical performances from local choirs, mince pies and hot chocolate. Guests are also welcome to place a personalised bauble (available on the night) on the tree.
Humphrey Booth’s communications and engagement manager, Leanne Taylor, said: “When I started this support centre, we started discussing the memorial service to remember all our loved ones we have lost to dementia.
“We decided to do it near Christmas because it is such a hard time for people that have lost their loved ones because people with dementia are physically there but mentally, they aren’t, so Christmas is not the same for loved ones and that is why we have done this memorial service to remember and celebrate the loved ones we have loved.”
For more information call 0161 607 7101 or visit their Facebook page.
*Suggested donation of £5 for a bauble which can be personalised and taken home after the service. All proceeds towards Poppy Dementia Support.
