The National Theatre is to bring its first tour of the acclaimed production, based on Neil Gaiman’s best-selling novel to the Lowry, in December.
The three-time Olivier-nominated play is adapted from graphic novelist, Neil Gaiman’s 2013 novel of the same name.
Directed by Camp Siegfried and Eureka Day’s, Katy Rudd, the play is The National Theatre’s largest production since the pandemic, touring for over 40 weeks.
The Ocean at the End of the Lane follows the story of a man who returns to his childhood home, sparking the magic of memory and naivety.
Gaiman’s work includes that of The Sandman series, Stardust and Coraline. The Ocean at the End of the Lane was the winner of the Book of the Year at the 2013 National Book Awards and has sold more than 1.2 million copies worldwide.
With more names to be announced, the current casting line-up includes A Certain Term and The Good Scout’s, Daniel Cornish, and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time’s, Trevor Fox and Emma-Jane Goodwin.
