This Autumn the University of Salford’s School of Arts have six new shows coming to the theatre.
The first show, comedian Kiri Pritchard – Mclean, kicks off on 22nd October from 19:30. The ‘Have I Got News for You’ and Live at the Apollo Comedian comes to the New Adelphi Theatre for a one-night stint of comedy. Tickets are £15/£13 for general admission for 16+ contains strong language.
On the 28 October, ‘Watch US Dance’ comes to the Theatre starting at 19:00. Watch US Dance is a showcase for the University of Salford Dance students with choreographed pieces from professional choreographers from different companies. Tickets are £8/£5, any one is welcome.
In November, ‘Songs I Want to Play’ comes to the theatre for two evenings on 4-5 November. ‘Songs I Want to Play’ is a live gig accompanied by a spectacle of animation performed by a 12-piece band. Suitable for ages 5+ with some strobe lights and flashing images, tickets range from £5-£18.
‘Schrödinger Reckless Sleepers’ a 60 minute of darkly comic, sensory, experimental theatre. Reckless Sleepers produce work from research and development and the full process takes 18 months. With tickets starting at £5, Schrödinger is at the theatre on 11-12 November from 19:00 both nights.
Exploring the fragility of human life and mental health, The Possibility of Colour is the final show for November. Recommended for ages 16+, the play contains themes of suicide, child trauma and references to child sexual abuse. Finishing with a live Q&A, The Possibility of Colour is open from the 17-18th starting from 19:00.
Finally, the last show of the season is ‘Tappfest’ starting on 9 December to 16 December at 19:30 each night. Tappfest is a live festival where 55 performers and technicians under the guidance of four guest artists. The guest artists select play texts or devising approaches that the students and technicians have experimented with. Ticket prices begin at £10 for the following performances.
