Many businesses and centres across Salford have announced temporary closures as a mark of respect for The Queen’s Funeral.
The closures come after King Charles approved Monday 19th September as a National Bank Holiday to commemorate the late monarch.
Schools and Colleges across the country have been advised to close, following a statement from The Department of Education. It said: “This day will be a bank holiday and settings that are normally closed on a bank holiday should close on this day, as a mark of respect. This will include schools and colleges.”
Supermarkets such as Tesco, Aldi, Co-op, Marks and Spencer and Morrisons have announced a full day closure. Sainsburys and ASDA plan to reopen some stories at 5pm.
Furthermore, Salford Medical Centre, Windsor Dental, AgeUK Salford, multiple Petmedics Veterinary Hospitals, Salford Gymnastics Club and JD Gyms are just some planning to observe the State Funeral.
Salford University has also announced the suspension of Lectures and Workshops for the day in order for staff and students to mourn.
Each closure has been announced via Twitter or Facebook.
