Lorent Tolaj has signed for Salford City FC on loan from Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion for the 2022-23 season.
The 20-year-old, who has scored nine goals in four games for the Swiss U19 team, joined the Brighton academy in 2018 after starting his career with FC Sion. He signed for League One side Cambridge United on loan last season but struggled to find regular playing time, making just five appearances in all competitions.
Speaking ahead of the move, he said: “I’m feeling great, feeling ready, and it’s a good challenge for me to play senior football. My goal is to play as much as I can and help the team by scoring goals, getting assists and win promotion.
“I’m a number nine striker, I like to receive the ball, bring in my team mates and be clinical in front of goal. I’m a powerful striker, quick and I’m confident in front of goal.”

The Ammies will be hoping that Tolaj can add to their strong start to the season, as they currently occupy a playoff spot. They next face fellow promotion hopefuls Stevenage at the Peninsula Stadium on Saturday at 3pm.
