Stevie Mallan has signed for Salford City on a two-year deal from Turkish Super Lig team Yeni Malatyaspor for an undisclosed fee.
Mallan signed for the Turkish side in 2021 after spells with St Mirren, Barnsley and Hibernian. However, he is returning to England after just one season in Europe. The 26 year old has also been capped by the Scottish U21 team nine times.
Speaking ahead of the move, he said: “When I heard about it, the chance to play in England again, I wanted to do that.
“I’ve been away for the past year in Europe, so getting back to England was a big thing for
me.
“What I want to do is play football so that was a big attraction as well, the amount of games you have in a season. League games, cup games, you’re not short on playing football every week so that’s pretty good, and obviously the ambition of this Club they want to go up as soon as possible, they want to keep going through the ranks.
“That’s something I want to do and help, try and get the Club promoted. I think that’s the main aim for this year to try and get up there and I want to do everything I can to help that and push forward.”
