Elliott Watt has signed a two-year deal with Salford City FC, following a two year spell at Bradford City, for an undisclosed fee.
Watt played 96 games in two years at Bradford, scoring five goals in that time, but has chosen to join the Ammies for an undisclosed fee.
Watt has played for Liverpool, Blackburn Rovers and Preston North End at youth level, before signing for Wolverhampton Wanderers where he made his professional debut.
The midfielder has been capped by Scotland’s youth sides and has captained his country at that level.
On signing at The Peninsula Stadium he said:
“I’m buzzing to be here, the big thing for me was I wanted a fresh start, something new, some new challenges, and also to play under a Coach who I felt can improve me.
“The Gaffer was a big part of that with his background and the young players that he’s developed at Manchester United, I spoke to him and he was a massive part of why I chose to come here.
“I feel as though I can bring a lot to the team, I’ve got quite a lot of games under my belt even though I’m 22, so I feel as though I’m experienced at this level.
“My main qualities are in possession playing as a deep midfielder, getting the team playing and getting the ball into the attacking players to go and create chances and score the goals for us!”.
Salford will host Bradford City on October 15 before travelling to Valley Parade on New Year’s Day for the return fixture.
