Salford City will be hoping to pick up a much needed win when they host Scunthorpe United on Saturday.
The Ammies drew 1-1 against 17th placed Rochdale on Tuesday Night. They had a mountain to climb after James Ball put the Dale ahead with a calm finish in the 27th minute but Matty Lund rescued a point with a header in the second half. However, the result has left Salford’s promotion aspirations in serious doubt.
Despite this disappointment, they are strong favourites against 24th placed Scunthorpe, who are seven points adrift at the bottom. The Iron are without a win in seven games after losing to Barrow on Tuesday night.
Both sides shared the spoils during their previous outing this season. Scunthorpe took the lead in the 37th minute but Salford saved their blushes thanks to a second half equalizer from Conor McAleny.
The visitors will be without veteran Anthony Grant who received a straight red card against Barrow, whereas centre-back Ashley Eastham remains side-lined for Salford.
Tickets are available online and from the ticket office.
