Higher Irlam Social club are hosting their first open mic night with the hope of showcasing the talents of young people in the area.
The Social Club have noticed that there is a lot of talented people in the area who have been scouted, but for whatever reason they haven’t gone any further. So the event is giving those, and other talented people in the community, a better opportunity at showing their talents, and potentially getting themselves scouted.
Even though the idea of the event stemmed from seeing the talent in the area, the social club insist that anyone is welcome to perform.
Crystal Paige, who works at the social club said: “It will be the first one we have ever done.
“We have seen a lot of young people in the community that are very talented, they have been scouted before but haven’t got that far.
“So we are trying to reach out and get more people involved to give people a better chance.”
The social club are hopeful that there will be plenty of people in attendance of the event on the night, supporting all of the Salfordian acts and all guests are welcome.
The event will take place on April 9th and will run from 8pm until late.
