Family-friendly festival Irlam Live is set to return for its 6th year running for four days from the 2nd to the 5th June.

The festival, which will take place at Prince’s Park, again boasts an impressive lineup with acts such as Bananarama, The Feeling, Heather Small and Girls Aloud star Nadine Coyle.

The first day of the event will also fall on the Queens Platinum Jubilee Day, with the celebrations aptly headlined by Queen tribute band Real Magic Queen, alongside other popular tribute acts Revival ABBA and David Bowie tribute Aladdinsane.

An organiser for the event, Darren Goulden, said: “On the Thursday we’ve got more of a poppy feel, we’ve got ABBA and we finish with Queen which is a brilliant lineup. The Freddie Mercury guy is stunning we booked him over two years ago, he’s great.

“It’s a brilliant family event we love it. Sometimes we see three or four generations of families sat together, you can set your chairs out and get a nice spot on the hill.

“There’s plenty for the kids to do, there’s a funfair, and this year we have Aardman Animations coming down on the Thursday so kids can make Wallace & Gromit and Shaun The Sheep, which is great”.

Prince’s Park has hosted Irlam Live every year (besides 2020 due to Covid-19) since it’s inception in 2016, and has previously played host to massive artists such as Billy Ocean, Bruce Foxton of The Jam, Bay City Rollers and Scouting For Girls.

Goulden explained the positive impact it’s had on Irlam, “It’s worth about £80,000 for the businesses over the weekend, all the pubs and eateries are full, it really does add to the community.”
