Local musicians Clint Boon and DJ Paul ‘Ezi’ Eden are hosting a bank holiday special at the Old Station House in Swinton on Sunday 1st May.
The bar, who are looking to host more events in the future, promises a night of partying from seven until midnight with tickets likely to sell out.
Boon, 62, rose to fame as a member of the Inspiral Carpets, who were part of the ‘Madchester’ movement that featured bands such as the Stone Roses and Happy Mondays. He has since worked on multiple stations including Radio X and BBC Radio Manchester.
He said: “I’m really looking forward to playing the Old Station House in Pendlebury with my good mate Paul ‘Ezi’ Eden.
“City centre gigs are ace but it’s always nice to get out and DJ in the suburbs. Recent gigs in places like Oldham, Whitefield, Glossop and Tyldesley have been some of my favourites of recent years.”
Eden, who has his own clothing brand ‘MCR ROCKS’, said: “I am very much looking forward to DJing at the Station, I did a private party there a few years ago but it’s since had a stunning refurb and has become a very trendy hangout!”
Eden has previously worked with Boon and Bez of the Happy Mondays. He admitted: “It did feel surreal at first working with Clint Boon and Bez. I did three gigs last year in a short spell of a few months with Bez, he’s a great laugh and is very much a man of the people.
“I’ve become great friends with Clint, he’s my inspiration for getting into DJing and has helped me loads in the early days of my career with advice and some does and don’ts of becoming a successful DJ.
“I was nervous at first working with Clint but that’s long passed, it’s quite normal for me now. We have done nights like this all over the place dozens of times.
“Myself and Clint are appearing at Bowlers on March 26th for the huge Manchester Adored event.”
Tickets are available at the Old Station House.
