A new show hosted at The Lowry in Salford will showcase art from young people created over the course of previous lockdowns.
‘You Can’t Stop Us’ brings together engaging new artworks by young creators from the Venture Arts Young People’s Art Club, aged from 8 – 25 years old.
Hosted by The Lowry in Salford Quays, the exhibition presents an explosion of creativity seen over the past year by several young artists.
Exciting and imaginative new works, many of which were created at home in lockdown, show the determination of this group of young artists not to let the challenges of the pandemic limit their creative output.
This is celebrated in the exhibition title, which was chosen by the group. The show includes video, photography, textiles, ceramics, painting, print, illustration and animation and will run until 20th March 2022.
Venture Arts is an award-winning, studio-based arts charity in Hulme, Manchester, which supports neurodiverse and learning-disabled people, working in partnership with major arts organisations to challenge art world preconceptions and see that artists are fairly represented within contemporary culture. The Young People’s Art Club is funded by BBC Children In Need.
