Salford band Pontiac are set to perform at The Patricroft Conservative Club for their annual Christmas party.
The family-friendly event, which will be on Monday 27th December, will include music from the established Salford musicians and also a disco courtesy of local DJ Jordy Smith.
The show will start at 19:00 and is set to go on till late.
Doug, who is one fifth of Pontiac, said he is “excited” to perform and stressed the importance of getting young people into live music. He said, “The kids always love coming to watch us, and it’s great to get them into live music instead of always being on electronics”.
He also stated how difficult it has been for musicians during the COVID-19 pandemic:
“It was difficult for us musicians not being able to play, so you definitely have to appreciate it more now.”
The Conservative Club on Edison Road is a popular venue within the local community and is commonly used for charity events, karaoke and as a function room for weddings and birthdays. They are also involved in the community in different ways as this year member Steve Farrington laid a wreath for Remembrance Day at the Eccles cenotaph on behalf of the club.
Pontiac are veterans of the venue having played there before on multiple occasions.
Pat, who works for the Conservative Club said: “We are very happy to welcome back Pontiac Band to the club and know this will be a sell-out
“Pop in the club to get your tickets only £5 each.”
