Salford MP’s have paid tribute to Conservative MP Sir David Amess, who was killed whilst holding his constituency surgery of Leigh-on-sea.
MP for Salford and Eccles Rebecca Long-Bailey took to Twitter to state: “Shocked and horrified to hear that David Amess has died.
“My deepest sympathies and prayers are with David’s family and friends.”

Barbra Keeley, MP for Worsley and Eccles South said: “On train to London – just arriving en route to Westminster and the tributes to Sir David Amess.
“Sending sympathy to all David’s Parliamentary colleagues and most especially to his wife and family for their terrible loss.”
The memorial service for David Amess took place at St Margret’s Church yesterday where a range of MP’s, including Barbra Keely were invited to speak.

Ms Keely again took to Twitter to state: “Today we remembered Sir David Amess and I was pleased to speak in tribute to him.
“We then had a lovely service of prayer and remembrance at St Margaret’s Church, Westminster Abbey”
