A murder investigation has been launched after a 17-year-old boy died from stab wounds in Salford on Wednesday night.
A second boy, also 17, was stabbed in the arm and has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Police were called to a report of a stabbing on Peveril Road, Seedley, at 8:15pm on April 21, where they found a boy with a chest wound, who later died.
Detective Chief Inspector Stuart Wilkinson, of GMP’s Major Incident Team, said: “After such a dreadful incident like this our thoughts are with the family of the young man who lost his life on our streets last night.”
Police were later called to an address on Stowe Street after reports that a second boy was stabbed in the arm.
The 17-year-old had already left the scene for the hospital, where the officers eventually arrested him on suspicion of murder.
DCI Wilkinson further said: “There will be understandable shock in the community after news of this incident, but we have a large police presence at the scene and I can assure the public we will be doing everything within our power to seek justice for this boy’s family.”
