Little Hulton residents are being advised to close all windows and doors as the Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service tackle a large flat fire at the shopping precinct on Longshaw Drive.
Six fire engines and an aerial platform were sent to respond to the blaze at the Little Hulton Shopping Precinct at 12:33pm today.
Greater Manchester Police and the North West Ambulance Service were also in attendance.
There have been no reports of casualties, although smoke inhalation treatment has been carried out for multiple people.
Witnesses say that residents of neighboring flats and surrounding buildings were all safely evacuated at the scene.
Traffic in the surrounding area may also be affected as emergency services continue to respond to the incident.
At 1:45pm the Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service issued the following statement:
“At 12:33 on 20 April 2021 six fire engines from across Greater Manchester responded to a fire at a domestic premises on Longshaw Drive, Little Hulton.
An aerial platform, breathing apparatus unit, command support unit and support appliances are also in attendance.
Fire crews are currently on scene using six breathing apparatus, three hose reels and one jet.
Local residents are advised to keep their doors and windows shut and avoid the area.”
