A driver was arrested after crashing a stolen car during a police pursuit in Eccles.
Officers spotted the black Mazda with a false number plate on New Lane on Saturday and gave chase when it drove off.
After the car crashed on School Road the driver attempted to escape on foot through gardens but was caught and arrested after failing a roadside drug test.
Police believe the car it was linked to a chain of stolen vehicles across the country.
A Greater Manchester Police tweet said: “The driver would be found to be a provisional licence holder. No insurance held. Failed a roadside drug test. Found with significant amount of cannabis.”
