A Salford-based theatre company, ‘Up ‘Ere Productions’ are set to produce a virtual winter showcase.
With Covid restrictions looking unlikely to end any time soon, nobody would be blamed for giving up on a festive Christmas this year. Up ‘Ere Productions, however, are not giving up that easily, and have announced their plans for a festive winter showcase, that can be enjoyed from the comfort of your own living room.
Showing from 15th to 17th December at 7.30 each night the event will showcase 15 of the finest unrepresented actors, who will take to the stage to show off their talents, with intervals between each act set to bring a bit of festivity to the evening.
Ms Megan Raynor is one of these actors showing off her talents, and explained: “You can expect an evening of exciting new talent and new writing with some good old festive cheer thrown into the mix!
“I will be given a two minute slot on one of the three evenings to perform a monologue to casting directors and agencies. It’s fairly early days but the hope is that as an actor writer there will be writing workshops over the next coming month to allow those who’d like to to write their own original piece to present.”

Ms Raynor has worked in theatre in education previously, touring two productions with theatre company Peer Productions. She is also currently developing a one-woman play, Scream If you wanna go faster, which was a winning piece at Script Writer & Co’s October Scratch Night and will be performed later this year at a virtual event with ‘We Read Scripts’ in partnership with Now you Know Productions.
While Ms Raynor has seen huge success in these areas, she explained that Covid has had an impact on actors: “It’s been a particularly challenging and isolating year for actors, particularly those new to the industry so it is a fantastic opportunity being offered by the team at Up ere to get a head start in the industry and connect with other like-minded creatives.
“I can’t wait to get started!”
The showcase is raising money for The Trussel Trust charity, which aims to end UK hunger poverty. The charity has a network of food banks across the country which aid people who cannot afford to buy food for themselves or their family.
