The Open was inspired by the Royal Academy 250 celebrations and their annual summer exhibition The Open first took place in 2018.
All the pieces that are featured in the exhibition will be entered into a competition where the art will be viewed by a panel of judges.
There will be a first prize, a People’s Choice winner and a Young Artist Award to be won at the event.
It’s not just traditional paintings that the gallery wants to feature either, everything from photography to sculptures are also welcome.
Councilor David Lancaster, lead member for environment and community safety said: “The city has a strong reputation for nurturing creativity and Salford Museum and Art Gallery has always provided a platform to showcase local talent.”
“Our hope is that The Open will help inspire the next generation of local artists.”
There is hope that Salford Museum and Art Gallery will reopen in December.
Anyone who is interested in the Open Exhibition or other events that were set to be held can find out more information on Salford Museum’s Twitter and Facebook pages.
