This half term might be the strangest to date in Salford and Greater Manchester this year.
Entertaining kids during the school holidays is difficult enough, let alone during a global pandemic.
However, this does not mean the fun stops just because of Tier 3 restrictions in the region.
Ordsall Hall
What doesn’t Ordsall Hall have on offer this half term? From an outdoor scarecrow trail, spooky afternoon tea, and ghostly tours, it’s the place to be this Halloween.
The hunt for scarecrows in the gardens of Ordsall Hall runs Monday to Thursday and cost £2 per child. Make sure you prebook your space for you and your children at https://ordsallhall.com/whats-on/

Speaking to Ordsall Hall about their festive fun, they said: “We are offering households free guided tours of our Show-rounds; these are available to book online.
“They also have a Spooky Twist over the next two weeks, so on request, you can have the Spooky Tour version of the tour looking at our Protection Marks, Tudor Witchcraft and Superstitions and the Ghosts of Ordsall Hall”.
Vue Cinema
Thankfully, all of our cinemas are allowed to stay open, even in Tier 3!
Vue Cinema at the Lowry Outlet has loads of family fun films on offer this week.
Two By Two: Overboard is the new animated film for kids on the big screen. The film is about a group of animals that set sail on ‘The Ark’ for an adventure.
The film lasts an hour and a half and is also on multiple times a day all week.
Other films on offer are Away, Dennis & Gnasher: Unleashed!, Onward and 100% Wolf, all on a super saver of £6.99!
The Lowry
Half term may not feel the same without a trip to The Lowry Theatre.
However, on Wednesday 28th October, this is about to change. A live performance of the classic book, The Snail and the Whale, will be streamed to your TV screens at home!
You can interact with the performers through a live chat function, transforming you straight into the live-action.
Tickets cost £10 for one device; however, you can donate up to £20 to help fund the arts industry and continue to do performances such as this.
Foundation 92 Football Club
The charity Foundation 92 and Salford Community Leisure are hosting a football camp all week at Salford Sports Village this half term.
Don’t worry if you think you are too late; you can also buy day tickets!
A range of activities are on offer all day between 10:00-13:00 and will not be one to miss with prizes of Salford City shirts and gym passes!

Tier 3 may have hit Salford, but this is not stopping all the half term activities this October.
