The sacking of manager Graham Alexander by Salford City FC has raised eyebrows on social media.
Alexander was sacked today after two and a half years, with former Manchester United player and Ammies co-owner Paul Scholes appointed caretaker manager.
The decision has been met with mixed views opinions from fans on Twitter. Some have criticised the decision due to Salford City’s strong start to the season with two wins, three draws and no losses.
Gary Neville comes across as quite a knowledgable pundit, so Salford sacking Graham Alexander after a few games and hiring Paul Scholes makes absolute zero sense.
Just like something Boris Johnson would do.
Hope Salford City get relegated after sacking Graham Alexander

Never thought I’d hear myself saying this but I hope Scholesy bombs. Really bad treatment of Graham Alexander.

Graham Alexander sacked after an unbeaten start to the season at Salford? I wonder what he’s done to upset Neville and his cronies?

Unbelievable!! Unbeaten this season. Just a vehicle for Paul scholes to have another crack at management. Face it great footballer, shit manager and pundit.

Crackers, 5th yet to lose, no doubt didn’t like the response they got from Graham Alexander, be better off putting Roy Keane in as Manager, at least could understand it more,, worlds gone mad mad I tell you 🤦♀️

However, some fans have welcomed the change, pointing out that Salford City only won seven of 20 games last season.
good luck salford city with paul scholes as your new interim head coach hope he fairs a bit better for you then he did at oldham

Those two late goals Salford City conceded on Saturday have been costly for Graham Alexander. He’s been sacked this morning, with Paul Scholes placed in temporary charge

Very surprising decision by Salford to sack Graham Alexander, but one of the main concerns was his sides playing style. Very interesting to see who the owners want to come in next. #salfordcity #efl #leaguetwo

Previously, Scholes has managed at Oldham Athletic, though he only held the position for 31 days after only one win for the team after seven games.
