Emily Dawes from ‘Move with Energy, Move with Mindset’ is working out at home to help people keep active and to raise money for a mental health charity Mind in Salford.
What started as wanting ‘a bit of structure to the week’ has led to weekly lockdown workouts that aims to be regular live streams of warm up stretches, bodyweight exercise and cooldowns with mindfulness involved.
Emily hopes that she can provide a safe community that work on keeping mobile and healthy that can also provide mental fortitude commonly found in spiritual practices.
From her work station at home, she said: “For me it’s about feeling a connection with friends, family, members and reaching out to new people out there.”
As of 11th May, there are 864 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Salford.
With the lockdown looking to continue for much longer, exercise is essential for a healthy body and mind.

The lockdown classes have more benefits than just keeping active Emily says: ”it’s helped people cope and recover with a lot in their lives and I want to help as many people as I can with the many benefits of the healthy physical and mindset movement”
“Whether the viewer is working up a sweat in the workout, joining in to just do the warm up or just tuning in for some mindfulness at the end, it doesn’t matter and everyone is welcome.”
‘Move With Energy, Move With Mindset’ is also looking to help the more vulnerable people during isolation with fundraising for Mind in Salford.
This vital charity provides services to make a positive difference to the wellbeing and mental health of people living within Salford.
“After lockdown, I can only see Mind services being utilised even more and so I wanted to reach out and help as we may need theirs one day.”
Emily’s fundraiser target of £150 could contribute to training over 12 new personnel in mental health awareness.
This would give them the skills and confidence to support someone who is struggling with their mental health.
Emily’s next scheduled classes are Monday(18th), Wednesday (20th) and Saturday(23rd) at 10am and can be found at her Instagram @movewithenergymovewithmindset to take part in the classes and https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/movewithem to donate towards her fundraising campaign.
