Sale Sharks Women have signed Wales prop Molly Kelly ahead of their first season in the Tyrells Premier 15s.
The 20-year-old – from the island of Anglesey – has represented her country six times and already has Premier 15s experience having enjoyed a spell at Merseyside outfit Firwood Waterloo Ladies during the 2018-19 campaign.
Kelly started her rugby career at Caernarfon RFC and has represented West Wales at age grade level and Wales Women emerging.
Upon signing for the club, Kelly said: “I’m looking forward to getting involved in the high performance set up the Sharks have implemented. With the professional facilities and the clear ambition to become a force in the Tyrrells Premier 15s, this is going to be an exciting time to be involved with Sale Sharks Women!
“I look forward to developing my game with the Sharks and pushing myself forward for more International caps with Wales – but firstly I’m focussed on working hard to be ready for the new season.”
The club’s Head of Women’s Rugby Darren Lamon said: “It’s great news that we can announce Molly Kelly will be joining the club. Molly’s been capped at international level and has a wealth of experience in the Premiership from her time at [Firwood] Waterloo.
“She’s going to add real quality in the front row and she will make an immediate impact, but she also has great potential that we want to develop further.
“We know Molly has a lot of things she wants to achieve and fulfil in her career, and we feel that Sale Sharks can offer her the opportunity to really maximise her talents and fulfil those goals”
