As the nights get cold and the days grow short, Peel Park has hosted a Victorian-themed Christmas festival.
On Sunday the 8th December, the Christmas spirit filled the air at Peel Park as the day went on and the crowd grew.
The giant snowglobe could be seen miles before you even got to the event.
The Broughton drama group had a wicked performance with their take on The Wizard Of Oz to start the day off with a bang.
When the morale got low, the MAPAS band & choir delivered with a selection of seasonal favorites to perform for the audiences.
The day saw multiple carnival rides and attractions make an appearance. The kids at the event loved them, especially the Frozen movie themed rides!
Multiple independent companies attended the event to make sure you get all your Christmas tidbits!
The Salford Victoria Theatre Trust attended the event and helped contribute to the Victorian theme!
The trust is dedicated to the acquisition and restoration of the Victoria Theatre on Great Clewes Street.
“We are on the first step on the road to a restoration project and have real opportunity to save the building for the community.”
Many of the parents who brought their kids out for a fun day thought the fair delivered. Sarah Kovacs-Edwards said:
“It’s great to see things like this happening in the community and to see so many people turn up. We loved watching the Broughton drama group”
From hot drinks to hung wreaths, the festival really had the Christmas spirit.
