In the Salford and Eccles constituency, there are five candidates who are looking to have a seat in Parliament.
The Salford and Eccles constituency was only created in 2008 following the Boundary Commission’s Fifth Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies, and has been represented by a Labour MP since the first election to contest it in 2010.
Hazel Blears was in the seat from 2010 until 2015, before Rebecca Long-Bailey replaced her after the 2015 general election.
All five major parties are fighting for the seat in Parliament, including the Green Party being represented by Hazel Blears’ nephew.
