A Salford laundrette have adopted environmentally friendly methods for their services in order to better their footprint and care for future generations.
Linen are a professional Eco-friendly cleaning and laundry service based at MediaCityUK. They offer a complete laundry service which includes a full wet cleaning service, general laundry and have a separate ironing service.
Wet cleaning is a new generation healthier and greener alternative to dry cleaning using highly sophisticated washers and dryers to safely clean articles of clothing that are normally dry cleaned.
Jaqueline Devlin, an employee, explained: “The methods we use are environmentally friendly because we’re not a dry cleaner – we’re a wet cleaners and the difference is that we don’t use chemical the chemical Purt. You need a license to use it.”
The U.S Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has recognised just two dry cleaning processes as being environmentally friendly; wet cleaning and Liquid Carbon Dioxide Cleaning.
Linen are one of the few places in the north-west to offer such services, but the methods are more prominent in London and around the world.
“All the products we use are environmentally friendly which in turn produces a better quality finish as the colours are more vibrant.
“More people are interested in environmental issues now and since opening three years ago, people are starting to trust our services and prefer our results,” added Devlin.
