Once again, this year Pure Insight are seeking out volunteers in Salford to ensure sure every child who has just left the foster care system receives a Christmas gift.
In England there are an approximate number of 42,000 foster children aged between 12-16, with Salford’s percentage rate being significantly higher than the rest of England. This means that those who are away from their homes don’t get the opportunity to fully experience Christmas like everybody else.
With the public’s help and support, charities like Pure Insight take it upon themselves to make sure that these children receive mental and financial help, especially throughout winter in places such as: Salford, Warrington, Stockport and Cheshire East.
Sarah, Sturmey, the CEO of Pure Insight publicly stated: “Together we have been able to improve the lives of 500 care experienced young people and children in the North West.”
“Together we have provided connection, belonging, care and opportunity to young people who need it the most.”
“We could not have done this without you and are extremely grateful for all your contributions,” she added.
The Christmas gift fundraiser is open to anybody from the public, whether they live in Salford or not: if you would like to contribute to the Amazon wish list click here.
The charity informs that in order to apply for a volunteering role, no prior experience is needed and that all training will be provided for anybody who would like to join.
To get in touch here’s the charity’s Facebook.
