The local community group, Meet your Muslim neighbour, will be hosting a Tea & Tour of Eccles Mosque on Sunday 17th November as part of Inter Faith Week, a national celebration taking place between the 10th and 17th November this year.
The free event is facilitated by the Eccles and Salford Islamic Society and will be hosted at Eccles mosque between 1pm and 3pm.
This is a chance for people of any religion, faith or background to have a tour of the mosque and ask any questions they have regarding its usage, or Islam in general. Refreshments will be offered, and volunteers will be present to help with anything.
Co-founder of Meet your Muslim neighbour, Tahir Mahmood, says the event is for those who want to “see what goes on on a daily basis in the mosque and seize the opportunity to meet your Muslim neighbour.”
As a part of Inter Faith Week, the event is to celebrate the diversity and inclusion present in Salford, and to highlight the work done by local community organisations, such as The Eccles and Salford Islamic Society and Meet your Muslim neighbour.
As well as hosting this event, Meet your Muslim Neighbour also regularly hold monthly lounge meetups on the second Thursday of every month, acting as a hub network to share, discuss and learn more about different communities.
