Two Salford Red Devils players, Jackson Hastings and Tui Lolohea, will start for their respective teams in the Great Britain v Tonga game on Saturday.
The news that both players would see the field at the weekend was announced this morning.
This is a feeling the two may have to get used to in the near future as Hastings signed a new contract to join the Wigan Warriors back in July.
Red Devils’ head coach Ian Watson is over in New Zealand with the Lions, as an assistant coach, and believes that the team are ready for their first game this weekend: “The boys were full of energy and came and attacked it really positively so it bodes well for us going forward.”
However, he went on to credit the difficult of the Tonga team; “They pose a real threat, they’re very similar to New Zealand in a lot of ways, as they’re very big and physical.”
It’s shaping up to be an interesting match, especially if you’re a Salford fan.
