Salford based De La Salle Junior Football Club will represent the City in the National Finals later this month after a superb semi-final win this weekend.
The DLS Under 11’s secured their place in the finals at St. George’s Park, The FA’s national football centre, with a stunning 8-0 victory over the North regional champions, Alverchurch FC.
DLS earned their way into the semi-final after being crowned champions of the North West Junior Premier League Trophy earlier this month.

Manager Allan Woodcock spoke of his pride in the team after what was a memorable performance.
“A memorable performance today made even more amazing being the only grassroots team from the county of greater Manchester to reach a national final to be played at St George’s Park, England’s headquarters.
“The boys were magnificent in a professional performance scoring 8 goals without reply, against a very well drilled Alverchurch academy side.”
Centre Back Michael Decandia shone in the 8-0 victory, ensuring that the side kept a clean sheet, despite facing very tough opposition.
De La Salle will be aiming to defy the odds when they meet West Brom Under 11’s at St. Georges Park. the stature of the opponent makes the Salford based sides journey even more incredible, meeting the former Premier League academy in the final.
The players were treated to an Italian buffet after the game, courtesy of Stockport based G&O Foods. They offered to cater for the post match hospitality in honor of the boys incredible achievement.
The team will travel to St. George’s Park on the 18th of May. We wish De La Salle all the best and hope that they can bring the trophy back to Salford.
