Salford’s Sis4ers Distillery have followed in their Seven Bro7hers’ footsteps by creating their own limited-edition gin to celebrate Pride.
This follows the collaboration between Salford Pride and the seven bro7hers Brewery, who created their own craft-beer to raise money for the charity.
A portion of the proceeds from the first 150 bottles of the passion fruit and ginger gin will be given to Salford Pride. The sisters are also supporting ‘The Pink Picnic’ on the 22nd June.
Lucy McAvoy, director of Sis4ers Distillery, said: ‘It’s all about inclusivity and all being one family together, so it fitted quite well with our ethos as a business.
‘Our hashtag is ‘gin for all’ so we’re very much supportive of the equality and diversity. So, it was an easy decision really, we just said yes straight away.’
The company is made up of four sisters, who decided to start up their own gin distillery two years ago.
The distillery was created following the success of their brother’s ‘Seven Brothers Brewery’; the eleven brothers and sisters claim to be the largest number of direct siblings within the alcohol industry in the world.
Kit McAvoy, Director of Seven Bro7hers Brewery, said that he felt ‘super proud’ of his sisters getting involved with Pride. He added: ‘They’re early in their journey, so for them to get on board as well, it feels great.
‘We’re all Salford born and bred, we’re a Salford family and to be able to support a Salford-based charity and community – we’re really proud.’
Proceeds from the remaining 350 bottles of the limited-edition gin will be given to other LGBT based charities that are yet to be decided.
