Salford Red Devils loose forward Mark Flanagan has talked to Salford Now about what he expects from the upcoming season, which starts this week.
Flanagan, who has played for other major clubs including Wigan and St Helens, says that starting his fourth season with Salford will be a “different challenge.”
Mark Flanagan said: “The team has a lot of potential and some great players with opportunity to grow. We’re building with lots of new players and potential.”
He went on to say that as a senior player he feels that he has to be a role model to younger players.
Flanagan is optimistic ahead of the season, noting that: “We’ve got a lot of great players and we’ll be playing lots of attacking rugby so its not going to be boring for spectators.
“We’re young and ambitious and will be playing an exciting brand of rugby. If we have a good start to the season it will set us in good stead for the back end of the year.”

The forward continued to say: “I love training and playing with the team and I love winning so hopefully we can do some of that this year.
“Any young people who are interested in rugby should start playing with your friends or go down to your local team. It’s a great way to meet new people and have a really good social scene.”
