A murder inquiry is under way following the discovery of a woman’s body in a car in Salford.
The body of a woman, believed to be in her 40s, was discovered in a car parked outside a property on Bolbury Crescent, Swinton.
Police were called by the ambulance service at around 10.40pm last night and today forensic tests were being carried out at the scene.
Detective Inspector Andrew Naismith of Greater Manchester Police’s Salford Division said: “The investigation is in its early stages and our thoughts are firmly with the victim’s family at this difficult time.
“We have a team of detectives working to piece together what has happened in the moments before the woman was found.
“While we have made one arrest, our enquiries remain ongoing.
“We would urge anybody with information about the incident to please get in touch.”
