Over 250 open water swimmers will be celebrating the new year in icy 5˚c water in Salford.
On Tuesday 1 January 2019 the event will take place in Dock 9, MediaCityUK.
The swim has been organised by outdoor swimming specialists Uswim.
This annual event will provide a safe environment for swimmers of all ages to complete the 250m swim challenge.
All of the money raised will go towards helping to boost two charities which are; Destination Florida and Bubblebecca Pugs Rescue charities.
Dave Quartermain, Director of Uswim said: “Throughout the year our open water swims and events in the dock attract over 20,000 swimmers so our annual new year’s day charity swim is a way of giving something back to the community and a fun and challenging way to start the year.
“All our dedicated staff will give their time up for free because it’s for such a great cause.”
There will also be a food collection which will be donated to the foodbank based at the Well Baptist Church in Farnworth, Bolton.
All swimmers will receive a commemorative swim cap and there will be a competition for the funkiest swim hat.
The event will be sponsored by The Morson Group.
