Festive sessions are running in MediaCityUK for children and adults until December 16 to help people connect with each other and embrace creativity.
Penelope’s Café inside the Open Centre of MediaCityUK on Wednesday hosted Christmas wreath making with florist Ixia Flowers.
The participants were able to design their perfect wreath by choosing from different materials with help from the professional florists.
Emily McMahon, the events manager for Ixia Flowers, said:
“It’s a chance for people to take part in a festive activity, make their own door wreath and be able to take it home. We hold these workshops all around North West […] We’ve already done a couple of these workshops this year. It’s a prime time for us as people want them [the decorations] a few weeks before Christmas. It kind of tails off at the end of December as people already have the decorations so they aren’t interested in making them.
“I think it’s really important for the community because everyone sits around the same table and sort of shares and passes around the materials. You’ve got people working side-by-side who wouldn’t normally meet each other.”
