Lancashire Cricket Club is eager to help Walkden find the coaches it needs to develop. LCC’s area cricket manager Bobby Denning said: “The club is an integral part of the community and part of that is to make sure that they have the right coaches in place so youngsters who come into the club from either the local schools or the community itself, get the right level of coaching from the right number of coaches.
“It’s about a quality cricket experience, it’s about making sure the youngsters have that good first experience of the game but also we want the right skills to be taught and we can only do that if we have qualified coaches in place.”
Walkden CC are working in affiliation with Lancashire CC and Salford Cricket Development Group to grow and develop their five junior teams at U9, U11, U13, U15 and U18.
Lancashire CC community coach Jordan Clark is working to include the community by visiting schools and educating young people on the activities available at Walkden CC.
Qualified coaches applying for the roles must have completed the ECB Certificate in Coaching Children’s Cricket (UKCC Level 2), hold a current ECB DBS certificate and have knowledge of ECB Child Welfare policies and procedures.
