A cannabis “forest” has been discovered in a Salford warehouse.
Over 12,000 plants were discovered inside the building on Church Street in Eccles on Tuesday afternoon.
Bailiffs called police officers to the scene on a suspicion that there was a cannabis farm inside the building.
Officers described the large find as a “forest” rather than a typical cannabis farm.
Upon arrival, officers found thousands of pounds worth of plants spread across five rooms.
Two people were arrested on the scene on suspicion of cultivation and cannabis offences.
GMP Salford posted a photo on Facebook of officers among the plants jokingly adding Christmas themed jokes.
A post on the GMP Facebook page opened with: “Ding Dong Merrily On High!
Anybody lost a huge cannabis farm in Eccles?”
.“We say farm, it was more of a forest with 12,000 plants and not even a Bauble or Length of tinsel in sight… humbug!”
The post explained that “officers located this huge cannabis farm today and have arrested a number of green fingered gardeners”
Anyone with information is advised to contact the police on 101.
